All Members:
Brothers and Sisters
of NC-5:
This year has
been real busy for
our Chapter so far.
We have come
together as a great
team and
accomplished quite a
bit in the past five
months. Although
some of the things
we participated in
were not “Chapter
events”, they were
indeed in keeping
with our mission
statement,
performing at least
four table
ceremonies for
veteran groups as
well as setting up
our missing man
table at Stateside
Elementary school.
One of the
highlights of recent
events was being
invited to
participate in the
Letter Carriers’
annual food drive at
Bell Fork Elementary
school early this
month.
Your Chapter also
played a part in the
history of the U.S.
Marine Corps with
the dedication of a
portion of Highway
17 renamed as the
U.S. Marine Corps
Highway.
Now, as we look
ahead, our major
event of the year,
RTXXIII, is upon us.
Once again the
Chapter will be
riding to DC for our
annual demonstration
on behalf of our
POW/MIA. For those
of us participating
in this event, we
will be very busy
working the entire
weekend, as we play
a major role in this
National event and
it is very rewarding
in the end. I would
ask the members who
cannot attend
RTXXIII to please
remember our POW/MIA
and take some time
to educate those
whom you may have
contact with about
Rolling Thunder® and
our mission. Take
time to explain the
significance of this
annual event.
Your Chapter will
be very busy in the
upcoming months as
well. Once we return
from RTXXIII we will
be conducting our
second annual Ron
Relay Memorial Ride
July 10 as well as
planning our
Statewide Rolling
Thunder® annual
picnic which NC-5
will host on August
28. We will then be
preparing for the
“Ride Home”.
All these
endeavors require
the Chapter coming
together as a team
and you demonstrated
time and time again
your dedication and
enthusiasm in making
great things happen
for your Chapter.
It’s an honor to
serve such a great
Chapter as your
President.
Thanks for all you
do!
